AEW star Will Ospreay undergoes neck surgery

Will Ospreay is now on the road to recovery after having successful neck surgery.

On Thursday, Ospreay sent out a message informing fans that he has undergone surgery and the operation was a success. He cautioned that his road back to the ring will be long, but he’s looking forward to seeing the fans again when he returns.

“The road will be long, but it’ll be worth it to see you all again,” Ospreay wrote. “Surgery was a success.”

A more precise timeline on when Ospreay is expected back in the ring is not known yet. Before undergoing surgery, he had been dealing with two herniated discs in his neck for months. He was still able to compete at AEW x NJPW Forbidden Door in August despite the injury but was written out in an angle after his team won a Lights Out steel cage match.

This is the first surgery that the 32-year-old Ospreay has ever undergone. He noted last month that he’s received a lot of support from his peers, including some “super lovely” messages from people in WWE.
