Brody King and Bandido are the new AEW World Tag Team Champions.

They won a triple threat match against FTR (Dax Harwood & Cash Wheeler) and champions The Hurt Syndicate (Bobby Lashley & Shelton Benjamin) on Sunday at AEW x NJPW Forbidden Door.

After Lashley hit a spear on King, three people in NJPW tracksuits attacked Lashley and Benjamin. They were later revealed to be Ricochet and The Gates of Agony, who took the champions out of the match. Harwood scored a near fall on King after a chair shot, but moments later King and Bandido hit their tag finisher (the monkey flip into a splash move) for the win.

It was the 17th title change in the history of the AEW World Tag Team titles, with King and Bandido becoming the 14th team to hold the belts.

Leading up to the pay-per-view, Fightful reported that MVP turned down pitches for Hurt Syndicate to drop the tag titles to FTR at either All In or Forbidden Door. It also stated MVP prefered they lose the belts to The Gates of Agony, The Outrunners, or Private Party instead.
