AEW’s Nigel McGuinness and partner expecting child

AEW’s Nigel McGuinness and his significant other revealed some big personal news on Monday.

In an Instagram post, McGuinness and his partner Kaori Takee announced that they are expecting a child together. The two have been dating for several years.

“Something magical has happened,” their announcement said. “Our crumpet is toasting…”

Takee is a fitness coach, cosplayer, and longtime wrestling fan who describes herself as a “frequent flyer” and “foodie.” She has podcasted about wrestling in the past as well as doing on-camera work for AfterBuzz TV. Along with that, she’s helped out McGuinness in his side career as a magician while appearing as his assistant at magic shows.

Last month, McGuinness unsuccessfully challenged Zack Sabre Jr. for the IWGP World Heavyweight Championship at AEW x NJPW Forbidden Door. The 49-year-old former ROH World Champion is a commentator for AEW and now occasionally wrestles for the promotion as well. He had been retired from in-ring competition for nearly 15 years before returning in 2024.

McGuinness also has a child from a previous relationship.
