All Elite Wrestling files to trademark ‘AEW: Shockwave’

All Elite Wrestling is looking to trademark an interesting name.
On Friday, September 6, 2024, the company filed to trademark “AEW: Shockwave” with the United States Patent and Trademark Office.
While it’s not yet clear how the company intends to use the name, the purposes listed in the filing include:
“Entertainment in the nature of wrestling contests; Entertainment services in the nature of live professional wrestling performances; Entertainment services in the nature of production of professional wrestling programs and events; Entertainment services, namely, production and distribution of ongoing television programs in the field of professional wrestling.”
AEW also filed to trademark “The Clone” and the same name in Spanish “El Clon” on Thursday, September 5.
The company filed to trademark the name “Grand Slam Australia” last month for AEW’s debut in Australia on Saturday, February 15, 2025, at Suncorp Stadium. Other trademarks the company has filed for in recent months include All In Texas, AEW: All In Texas, and Meat Mayhem. Late last year, AEW filed to trademark “Hologram,” which ended up as the new gimmick for Aramis. He debuted the new character in July.
