Report: AEW wrestler gives notice, returning to WWE for tag team reunion

After weeks of speculation, Enzo & Cass are reportedly officially set to be reunited in WWE.

Fightful Select reports that Big Bill, whose deal is coming up over the next week, has given notice to AEW that he’s departing the company. This paves the way for a WWE reunion with his former tag team partner Enzo Amore, with Fightful saying plans call for WWE to sign Amore as well. At least as of mid-June, Amore was not officially signed yet because WWE was waiting for Big Bill to be contractually free and clear.

Enzo & Cass were one of the most popular acts of the early NXT era and later were featured on the main roster. It’s not known which brand they’ll be featured on when they return. During their initial run, they did not hold any tag team championships, though Big Bill did later win gold in AEW alongside Ricky Starks.

A serious battle with alcoholism once jeopardized Big Bill’s career and life, but he is now more than five years sober. He’s had stints with TNA/Impact Wrestling and AEW after being released by WWE in 2018.

Big Bill’s AEW run included being aligned with Chris Jericho in The Learning Tree and teaming with Bryan Keith. The last AEW match for Big Bill took place on ROH this April.

Because he is still under contract for a short while longer, Big Bill has not been removed from the roster page on AEW’s website yet. The 39-year-old former Big Cass is married to AEW broadcast team member Lexy Nair.
