Brian Cage recalls his AEW return process
Brian Cage recently returned to AEW last month against Kevin Knight.
After almost a year’s absence due to injury, Cage returned to AEW television during the May 13 episode of Dynamite against Knight in a TNT title match. While Cage lost the match, the Don Callis Family member made his presence felt.
Recently speaking to False Finish, Cage opened up and revealed the entire process behind his comeback. The 42-year-old revealed that he was informed about his return just a few hours before his scheduled appearance.
“When I got the call to come back to AEW, it was late Tuesday night. I already had a full schedule and wasn’t even home. I got back, trained legs because I knew I’d be traveling all day Wednesday for Dynamite, prepared everything for the weekend and my commitments, and finished around three in the morning. I got up at 5:40 a.m. to get to the airport and didn’t arrive at the arena for the match with Kevin Knight until around seven that night,” Cage shared.
“I went straight to medical, had to get cleared by the state athletic commission, then receive treatment. I didn’t even see the locker room. I changed right after getting off the treatment table and went straight to Gorilla Position.”
Back in the promotion, Cage’s latest AEW appearance was on the May 30 episode of Collision, where he teamed up with Jake Doyle to defeat Jimmy Wild & Tommy Mars.
