Britt Baker supports AEW partner Rebel with ALS Ice Bucket Challenge

Britt Baker AEW

Britt Baker put out a video celebrating her AEW partner Rebel on Friday amid Rebel’s battle against ALS.

After the trend went viral on social media in the 2010s, the ALS Ice Bucket Challenge has come back in recent weeks to raise money and awareness for ALS research. It returned after former NFL star Chris Johnson revealed his ALS diagnosis, and some wrestlers have now gotten into the mix with their own “Rebel Heart Ice Bucket Challenge.” Baker posted her video today after being nominated by Sean Dean. Gail Kim, and Rebel herself, helped out with the video by dumping the bucket of ice water on Baker’s head.

Baker challenged AEW’s Chris Jericho, Renee Paquette & Jon Moxley, Adam Cole, Kris Statlander, Orange Cassidy, and Thunder Rosa to join in with their own videos.

ALS (amyotrophic lateral sclerosis) is a fatal disease that attacks the nervous system. During her fight against the disease, Rebel has become an ambassador for I Am ALS, which is a patient-led organization looking to find a cure. AEW has its own Rebel Heart fundraiser for that group and the Team Gleason Foundation.

Rebel was diagnosed with ALS after a long health battle where doctors struggled to fully figure out what was the cause of her issues.

Britt Baker & AEW —

Baker has remained close with after their on-screen pairing. While Baker is still under contract with AEW, it’s been two years since we last saw her compete. Her future appears to be uncertain with no official explanation for her AEW absence, though Tony Khan has always publicly said that he expects Baker to return to AEW programming at some point.
