CM Punk returning to AEW Dynamite this week

CM Punk is returning to AEW television for the first time since Revolution.

AEW has announced that Punk will return to Dynamite this Wednesday, marking the first time he’s appeared on the show in person since this month’s Revolution pay-per-view. Punk defeated MJF in a dog collar match at the PPV.

AEW tweeted: “For the first time since his brutal and bloody #DogCollar Match with @The_MJF at #AEWRevolution, the #BestInTheWorld @CMPunk returns to #AEWDynamite LIVE TOMORROW NIGHT from the @HEBCenter in Cedar Park, TX at 8pm ET / 7pm CT on @TBSNetwork!”

Dave Meltzer reported last week that Punk will be part of the filming for season two of Starz’s “Heels.” Punk plays the recurring character Ricky Rabies on the series.

MJF is also set to speak on Dynamite this Wednesday. On last week’s show, MJF cost Wardlow a TNT Championship match against Scorpio Sky. Wardlow turned against MJF during the dog collar match at Revolution.

Here’s the updated lineup for Wednesday’s Dynamite:

  • Eight-man tornado tag match: Sting, Darby Allin & The Hardys vs. Private Party, The Butcher & The Blade
  • Chris Jericho & Daniel Garcia vs. John Silver & Alex Reynolds
  • MJF speaks
  • CM Punk appears in person for the first time since Revolution
