AEW has made their first match announcement for October's TNT premiere.
Cody Rhodes will face Sammy Guevara on AEW's first television episode. The show is taking place at the Capital One Arena in Washington, D.C. on Wednesday, October 2 and will air on TNT from 8-10 p.m. Eastern time.
In his matches for AEW thus far, Cody has defeated Dustin Rhodes, went to a 20-minute time-limit draw with Darby Allin, and teamed with Dustin in a loss against The Young Bucks. Guevara lost to Kip Sabian in his AEW debut, then teamed with Shawn Spears & MJF to defeat Allin, Joey Janela & Jimmy Havoc in a six-man tag match.
Cody vs. Spears has been set up for All Out on August 31 but has yet to be officially announced.
Tickets for AEW's first TV episode will go on sale this Friday (August 2) at noon Eastern time. The two-hour live weekly show will air on Wednesdays and will take place in different cities across the country each week.
The name for AEW's TV series has yet to be confirmed.
