Death Triangle crowned new AEW World Trios Champions

PAC, Penta El Zero Miedo, and Rey Fenix won the titles on Wednesday's Dynamite.

PAC, Penta El Zero Miedo, and Rey Fenix are the new AEW World Trios Champions.

Death Triangle defeated Orange Cassidy, Trent Beretta, and Chuck Taylor of Best Friends in a bout to crown new World Trios Champions on Wednesday's Dynamite. PAC pinned Taylor after hitting a Black Arrow to capture the titles for his team.

The titles had been vacated at the top of Wednesday's Dynamite episode after an announcement from AEW GM Tony Khan. Without mentioning CM Punk or any of The Elite by name, Khan stated that he had been forced to vacate both the World and Trios titles.

Kenny Omega and The Young Bucks were stripped of the Trios titles that they won in a tournament final at All Out on Sunday, and Punk was stripped of the World title following a backstage altercation between Punk, The Young Bucks, Omega, and others after Sunday's show.

The previously announced Death Triangle vs. Best Friends bout was made a title match, while a tournament to crown a new World Champion was announced, with the finals set for Dynamite Grand Slam at Arthur Ashe Stadium in New York on September 21.
