Eddie Kingston returns to AEW on Dynamite

Eddie Kingston made his AEW return on Wednesday’s Dynamite after being sidelined due to injury.

Kingston appeared in the show-closing angle that followed the Blackpool Combat Club vs. The Elite trios match main event. Kingston ran in to make the save for The Elite after The BCC jumped the trio of The Young Bucks and Hangman Page following the match.

Kingston went after Claudio Castagnoli of the BCC, the ROH World Champion. Kingston had been involved in a program with Castagnoli over the World title on ROG programming before being sidelined due to a hernia. It was reported on May 7 that Kingston would be undergoing surgery to repair the hernia on May 9. He had since been announced as challenging KENTA for the NJPW Strong Openweight Championship in Japan on July 5 so he was expected back in action soon.

Jon Moxley and Kingston had a faceoff in the ring on Dynamite, but Kingston and Moxley did not attack one another, as Kingston focused his attack on Castagnoli. Moxley and Kingston have been linked in past AEW storylines as allies.
