Ex-Try Guy Ned Fulmer makes wrestling debut at AEW taping
At AEW’s Collision taping on Wednesday night, a controversial internet celebrity made his pro wrestling debut.
Ned Fulmer — formerly of YouTube group The Try Guys — wrestled an untelevised dark match at the Jacksonville AEW event. Going by the name “Nasty” Ned, he teamed with Angelico & Serpentico in a victory over The Frat House (Griff Garrison, Cole Karter & Jacked Jameson).
Fulmer is best known for the 2022 scandal where he was removed from The Try Guys after it was found that he had cheated on his wife Ariel with another company employee. The scandal made international news and drew strong public interest given the hypocrisy of how much Fulmer had made loving his wife a part of his public persona.
The Try Guys quickly cut ties with Fulmer and have continued on without him, with Saturday Night Live even parodying how strongly they responded to Fulmer’s affair. Keith Habersberger and Zach Kornfeld are currently the two main members of the group. The concept originally started at Buzzfeed before they branched off into their own channel, creating video content where they try out different endeavors for the first time.
After spending years outside of the public eye following the scandal, Fulmer returned last month with a new podcast called “Rock Bottom with Ned Fulmer.” The first episode was a conversation between Fulmer and Ariel (who are now separated) addressing the affair. It remains to be seen how this dark match fits into the comeback Fulmer is attempting to make.
