Harley Cameron says she was ‘asking for help’ ahead of Mercedes Mone match
Promising AEW star Harley Cameron has opened up about her preparation routine ahead of her title bout against Mercedes Mone.
Earlier this year, in February 2025, at Grand Slam in Australia, home-town hero Harley Cameron clashed against Mercedes Mone for the TBS Championship in a losing cause. Now, almost nine months later, in a recent interview on Marking Out with MVP & Dwayne Swayze, the 31-year-old reflected on asking for help ahead of her title match against Mone.
“It’s funny I was doing the maths yesterday, because I have a book that I write in, I have a wrestling book, a traditional thing where I write it down. I write everything down.Again, 64 matches in, it’s funny to even do the maths on that, because I just got to wrestle one of the greatest wrestlers of all-time, and I was like holy shit.” She further continued, “But again I was like I’m gonna do the best I can to be ready, and I’d go home and train, I’d think of spots and I’d ask for private sessions with my coaches and if you see me at work I’ll be in the ring before the work day begins because I was like ‘I’m getting put in the deep end, so I better do the best of my ability’ because if anything doesn’t go to plan or isn’t perfect, at least I can turn around and say I gave everything to it. I was training as much as I could, I was asking for help, I was doing the additional stuff.”
Cameron’s title match against Mone in Queensland, Australia also happened to be the Australian wrestler’s 64th overall career match.
