Hechicero to challenge Jon Moxley on AEW Dynamite

Jon Moxley vs. Hechicero

The feud between the Don Callis Family and the Death Riders will continue this Wednesday when Hechicero challenges Jon Moxley for the AEW Continental Championship on Dynamite.

AEW CEO Tony Khan announced the match on social media.

Moxley won the Continental Championship in December, defeating Callis Family members Kyle Fletcher and Kazuchika Okada in the semifinals and finals of a tournament for the belt. He has since faced and defeated three other members of the Callis Family: Josh Alexander, Mark Davis, and El Clon. A fourth Callis Family member, Konosuke Takeshita, took Moxley to a time-limit draw.

Moxley has also fought alongside the Death Riders against the Don Callis Family in a series of trios matches, going 3-1 in those contests.

Hechicero started wrestling for AEW in January of 2024. He has never won a championship in AEW; his last championship match in the promotion was a loss to Mark Briscoe for the TNT Championship in January.

In CMLL, he is a former CMLL World Heavyweight Champion, a former NWA World Historic Light Heavyweight Champion, and former co-holder of the CMLL World Trios Championship.

His last match was a loss in a trios match, teaming with Lance Archer & Rockey Romero in a defeat to Moxley & Wheeler Yuta & Daniel Garcia on a January 21 episode of Collision.
