Jack Perry opens up about relationship with fellow AEW star Anna Jay

Dating Anna Jay has been “very good” for Jack Perry and helped him understand that there’s more to life than pro wrestling.

On the latest episode of Close Up with Renee Paquette, Perry opened up about how much he’s grown over the last couple of years. Perry’s relationship with Jay has been an important part of that growth. He has a better perspective now and a stronger balance between his personal and professional lives.

“It’s been five years now,” Perry said about his relationship with Jay. “She’s actually very good for me in the sense of, she’s always — when I was more obsessive about wrestling and all that — she was always like, ‘We’re at a dinner, can we not do all this right now?’ I mean, still sometimes I can’t turn it off. But she has always been very sort of well-centered and kind of grounded in real life and what’s really [important]. I keep saying ‘what’s really important,’ wrestling is important and I like it and I like being a wrestler. But I laugh sometimes, too. I don’t know why, it’s always in the middle of the night when I wake up to pee. I think about how crazy it is that this is what I do and this is my job. And it feels, like, so serious.”

Both Perry and Jay are members of the AEW roster, though Jay could potentially test free agency with her contract set to expire within the next six months.

Perry has a Continental Classic match against PAC airing on tonight’s Christmas Eve edition of AEW Dynamite. Perry was not originally scheduled for the tournament but was added to the Gold League after Darby Allin had to withdraw due to injury.
