John Skyler suffers knee injury on AEW Dark, may miss six months

John Skyler suffered a significant knee injury during his match that aired on this week's edition of AEW Dark.

In a statement posted on his Facebook account, Skyler announced that he suffered tears in his ACL, MCL, and PCL in his right knee during the match. Skyler wrote that the injury happened in "what can only be described as an unavoidable freak accident" and wasn't anyone's fault.

Skyler wrote that he's projected to be out of action for around six months. He noted that decisions on inevitable surgery and rehab will be made early next week.

"12 Years. 1,264 matches. I’ll be back (in six months...hopefully sooner) & I’ll be ready to pick up where I left off. #TuesdayNightSkyler is only preempted. Thanks to everyone at @AEWrestling for their unwavering support & generosity. BTW ...I finished the match," Skyler tweeted.

The Dark Order (Evil Uno & Stu Grayson) defeated Skyler & Brady Pierce in the match where Skyler was injured. This was the third match that Skyler has had on AEW Dark. In his AEW debut, he teamed with Pierce and lost to Joey Janela & Sonny Kiss on the May 26 episode of Dark. He also lost to Billy Gunn on the show on the June 2 episode.
