Former World Champion Kenny Omega wants to achieve a feat similar to Samoa Joe.

Kenny Omega is known for his love of pro wrestling and video games. The star has now revealed that he hopes to appear in a non-wrestling video game, similar to his AEW colleague Samoa Joe. During a recent interview with with SHAK Wrestling of CBS Sports, Omega claimed,

“Samoa Joe being in that game is very inspirational and I hope to one day follow in his footsteps and have a fully fleshed out character that isn’t Kenny Omega that’s in a game.” He further added, “Whether I’m Kenny Omega in a game, not a wrestling game, I could be Tyson Smith I could be whoever but it’d be cool. That’s one of my goals outside of wrestling that I hope to achieve.”

‘The Samoan Submission Machine’ has been a part of 2025’s ‘Like A Dragon: Pirate Yakuza in Hawaii’ by SEGA and Ryu Ga Gotoku Studios, where he took up the role Raymond Law, one of the game’s antagonists.

Omega himself appeared in the remake of 2023’s Like A Dragon: Ishin, though his involvement there was limited to a special ‘Trooper Card’. He has also appeared in multiple All Elite Wrestling video games. On the other hand, Joe’s non-wrestling appearance includes multiple films and video games, with Twisted Metal being one of the most noted ones.

Kenny Omega discusses his retirement plans

In the same interview with SHAK Wrestling, Omega opened up about his recent battle with diverticulitis. Discussing his injuries, the AEW EVP also shared his retirement plans.

“I would like to be in a situation where I left the ring not having any regrets, and not feeling embarrassed or that I tarnished my reputation. So I’d like to leave while I have some semblance of athleticism left in my body. I don’t want to completely work until the wheels fall off, and the person who leaves wrestling is one who barely resembles the Kenny Omega of old.”

At 42 years old, he is now scheduled to compete at the upcoming Full Gear PPV against The Young Bucks and Josh Alexander.
