Kris Statlander claims first spot in next week’s AEW Dynamite Casino Gauntlet
Kris Statlander will enter next week’s AEW Dynamite Casino Gauntlet match in first position.
Statlander won a triple threat match on this week’s AEW Dynamite, defeating Toni Storm and Willow Nightingale to earn the first spot in the women’s Casino Gauntlet set for next week’s Dynamite Maximum Carnage. Statlander pinned Storm with Staturday Night Fever to win Wednesday’s contest.
The winner of the Casino Gauntlet next week will earn an AEW Women’s World Championship match at Grand Slam Australia on Saturday, February 15. Mariah May is the current AEW Women’s Champion.
Under AEW’s Casino Gauntlet rules, the match begins with two competitors, with more wrestlers added to the bout at regular intervals. The first entrant has an advantage, as the match ends with the first fall, unlike a traditional gauntlet match.
Statlander is on the in-ring run of her career, coming off a pair of critically-acclaimed bouts with Mercedes Mone at November’s Full Gear pay-per-view, and at December’s Worlds End event.
