Former AEW Women’s Champion Kris Statlander has her scars permanently tattooed.

Last year, in November 2025, Kris Statlander participated in the first-ever Women’s Blood and Guts match. Being on the losing team, Statlander left the match broken and scarred. However, she has now turned one of those painful moments from her match into a permanent addition to her body.

In a recent interview with Daily Star, Statlander revealed that she got her back scars from the match’s nail bed spot tattooed in red, as a way to honor her accomplishment.

My scars that I got from taking the bed of nails at Blood & Guts, I got those scars tattooed on my back in red so they always look fresh,” Statlander said. “Everytime I go to the medical room to get my back worked on or something, they see my [tattoo], they always think it’s a fresh cut and they’re like, ‘I can’t work on your back.’ Then they’re like, ‘Oh, wait, no, it’s a tattoo.’”

The first-ever women’s Blood and Guts match saw Triangle of Madness (Julia Hart, Skye Blue, and Thekla), Megan Bayne, Marina Shafir, and Mercedes Mone defeat Jamie Hayter, Kris Statlander, Babes of Wrath (Willow Nightingale and Harley Cameron), and Timeless Love Bombs (“Timeless” Toni Storm and Mina Shirakawa). It should also be noted that multiple people left the Blood and Guts event injured following their matches.
