Latest on Bryan Danielson and AEW career
Former AEW Champion Bryan Danielson has been out of the ring for quite some time now. Danielson’s last match was at WrestleDream 2024 against Jon Moxley, and he has largely been away from the ring since then aside from some stints in the commentary booth.
According to a new update from Fightful; Danielson is still with the company and he contributes on a creative level: “Yes [he is still with AEW], and still contributes creatively. I’m not sure how often he’s actually at the shows or anything like that, but he still contributes I believe. I know the travel could be tough on him physically. I’m not sure if Brie being on the road for WWE has adjusted things for him, but that would make a lot of sense.”

Danielson “semi-retired” in 2024, saying that he would no longer be a full-time performer going forward. However, he has not officially wrestled (beyond an 8 second match with Max Caster) since losing to Moxley at WrestleDream in 2024.
It is not currently confirmed if he has any plans to return to the ring anytime soon. Danielson has an extensive history of injuries that he has been fighting for well over a decade now, so there is a chance that he could decide he’s done completely. We’ll look to try and get an update on his status in the coming days.
