Leila Grey provides surgery update on her ACL injury
Over a month after suffering a severe ACL injury during her TBS Championship match against Mercedes Mone, AEW/ROH wrestler Leila Grey has dropped the latest update on her ACL injury surgery.
Recently, Grey uploaded a video on social media, sharing her gratitude toward the fans and AEW before showing the exact moment in the match where the injury happened. The injury took place when Mone pushed Grey into the corner turnbuckles, where she felt the “first pop.”
Never injured before, Grey was unsure about the severity of the “pop” and continued to fight in the match. However, things turned serious when she went for the running knee on Mone and felt the “second pop.” It was at this moment that Grey became aware of the injury.
Grey further continued and shared an important update on her pending surgery and an estimated timeline of when it might happen.
“So, today is January 19th, and I had consultations with the surgeons. So, it’s been over a month since my injury. I finally got to see the surgeon today, and unfortunately, the feedback that I got was, I still do not have complete range of motion in my leg. So, I cannot fully extend it, still can’t bend my knees. So, because of that, I need to do more prehab, at least another month of prehab, twice a week. And then, after that, he said, he should be able to operate.”
The injury took place during the December 6, 2025, episode of AEW Collision at the Greater Columbus Convention Center in Columbus, Ohio.
