Mark Davis vs. Andrade El Idolo National title match result from AEW Redemption
A new National champion was crowned at AEW Redemption as former Don Callis Family member Andrade El Idolo faced off and defeated Mark Davis for the AEW National Championship.
Following a closely fought match, El Idolo was able to defeat Davis with a spinning elbow and then The DM. While both men took each other to their limits, El Idolo maintained momentum almost throughout the entirety of the bout.
Andrade now joins Ricochet, Jack Perry, and Davis on the list of AEW National Champions. Davis’ run ended at 78 days after he first won the title back in May 2026 and had eight title defenses before losing it to Andrade.
The title marks Andrade’s first singles AEW title win. A former DCF member, he turned his back on the faction a few weeks ago at AEW x NJPW Forbidden Door, before defeating Jake Doyle to earn a title shot.
It was one of three title changes on the night as Willow Nightingale defeated Thekla for the AEW Women’s World title while Maya World defeated Hikaru Shida for the TBS title.
