Mark Davis wins National championship at AEW Fairway to Hell

Mark Davis is the new AEW National Champion.

In the first match of the night on Saturday, May 9, at AEW Fairway to Hell, Jack Perry faced Davis with his AEW National title on the line.

However, toward the closing moments of the match, fans saw Don Callis call in a favor from Ricochet, who interfered and hit Perry with a golf club, costing him the title. Davis then proceeded to pin Perry to win the National title and his first-ever AEW singles championship.

Later, during a backstage segment, Callis and Davis met with Ricochet to determine a plan for the Don Callis family to team up with Ricochet’s Demand at AEW Double or Nothing. Perry also announced the Elite [Perry, The Young Bucks, and Kenny Omega] for Double or Nothing.

The history of the AEW National Championship

Last year, in November 2025, AEW established the National Championship. Not just exclusive to AEW, the title has been actively defended across multiple promotions.

Ricochet was the inaugural champion, who won the title at Full Gear 2025 and held the title for 113 days. Perry later won a 21-man Blackjack Battle Royal at Revolution 2026 to win the title. He has now lost it to Davis at AEW Fairway to Hell.
