Matt Sydal joins Skyflight on AEW Collision
Matt Sydal is now a part of Skyflight in AEW.
Last month, on the June 20, 2026 episode of AEW Collision, Matt Sydal made his televised AEW return in a backstage segment with Skyflight.
His backstage meeting finally proved fruitful when he allied with SkyFlight and became the newest member of SkyFlight, joining Top Flight, Christopher Daniels, Zayda Steel, Leila Grey, and Scorpio Sky.
During the backstage segment, Top Flight (Dante Martin & Darius Martin) claimed that Sydal would be a perfect fit for their group based on his reputation as one of the most influential highflyers of all time
Sydal claimed he would need people to watch his back. And as Darius Martin moved away from the screen, Dante Martin claimed that if Sydal had his back, he would have his back.
Sydal’s last wrestling appearance dates back to a May 2024 loss against Konosuke Takeshita. Shortly after that, Sydal went on a hiatus to undergo right foot surgery. And while Sydal returned to in-ring action last year, he made his AEW return after almost two years.
