Mercedes Mone on Private Party AEW Tag Title win: I’m really proud of them

Watching Private Party win the AEW World Tag Team Championships made Mercedes Mone feel like “a proud sister.”

In the latest edition of her Mone Mag, the TBS Champion recalled meeting Isiah Kassidy and Marq Quen in 2015 while they were training with Amazing Red at House of Glory.

She wrote:

“Being reunited with the Boys in Private Party last week was so great. While there is nothing currently in the works as far as a faction or collaboration, I have been watching those boys come up since they were young fans training with Amazing Red at the House of Glory Wrestling School. I first met them back in 2015 when they were in their late teens. I remember about five years ago when Isaiah and Quen came up to ask me for my advice. They were curious about what it would be like and how to go about signing up with a big Promotion company.”

Quen and Kassidy started teaming together in the summer of 2015 for House of Glory. Before signing with AEW in 2019, they wrestled for various promotions around the New York area, including GCW, winning the promotion’s tag titles in 2017. They made their AEW debut at Fyter Fest in June 2019.

Mone continued:

“When they told me they signed with AEW, I was so proud! I just felt like a proud sister. Seeing them win the AEW tag team titles five years later has been amazing! Again, I feel like their little big sister and am really proud of them. All of the wrestlers backstage are so happy for them. They worked so hard for a long time to get where they are now. It’s great to stand by and support them as a proud sister.”

Mone also addressed Kamille’s loss on Dynamite to Kris Statlander, stating that she is “embarrassed” her associate couldn’t get the job done. Statlander challenges Mone for the TBS title later this month at Full Gear.

“Kamille couldn’t get the job done. I’m super embarrassed by her performance last week. I recruited The Brickhouse to the Moné Corp because I thought that she was one of the most dominant women in all professional wrestling. But in her match last week, Kris Statlander proved that wrong. So, Kamille is in the doghouse. We will have to have a big talk before I can have her perform on TV again. Last week was just such an embarrassment. I will not tolerate such poor performance. So, we will have to wait and see if she steps it up. Other than that, Kamille is awesome – just sayin’….”

Mone appeared at Fighting Spirit Unleased on Friday night after a new number-one contender for her NJPW Strong Women’s Championship was determined in a four-way match. Hazuki defeated Trish Adora, Koguma, and Anna Jay. Mone confronted Hazuki after the match, and the two brawled, with Mone getting the upper hand. Hazkuki will challenge Mone at Fighting Spirit Unleashed on December 15 at the Walter Pyramid in Long Beach.
