Mercedes Mone reacts to Naomi pregnancy announcement

Mercedes Mone was excited to recently find out some good news from her friend Naomi.

As was announced on WWE Raw this week, Naomi and her husband Jimmy Uso are expecting their first child together. The couple has been married for more than a decade, with Naomi also being a stepmother to Uso’s first two children.

Mone told The Takedown on SI that she was “so excited” for the news and is hoping that the baby will be a girl.

“Yeah, I’m an auntie,” Mone said. “I’m excited. I was so excited for the news, and she told me you’re going to be an auntie, I was like, ‘Oh my God, I cannot wait to see a little baby Trinity.’ And I really hope it’s a girl. But I just honestly hope it’s so healthy, and she has a healthy pregnancy.”

Mone and Naomi are in different promotions now, but they’ll be forever linked through their friendship and the decision they made to walk out of WWE in 2022. Mone is currently a top star in AEW, while Naomi went to TNA Wrestling before later coming back to WWE.

“She is my sister for life. I am so proud of her and everything that she has accomplished, and it’s just so perfect to see how far she’s come and just to experience this next chapter in her life and her career,” Mone told The Takedown. “I’m along for the ride as a fan, for her. I mean, cheering her on all the way from AEW. So, it’s amazing.”

Naomi was on perhaps the best run of her career lately, winning the Women’s World Championship in July before having to vacate the title this Monday.

When Mone was in WWE as Sasha Banks, she and Naomi had one Women’s Tag Team title reign together.

Mone has a big weekend coming up in London, where she’ll have two matches for Revolution Pro Wrestling and then compete at AEW x NJPW Forbidden Door. She’s defending her TBS Championship against Alex Windsor, Persephone, and Bozilla in a four-way match at the August 24 pay-per-view.
