Mercedes Mone says she’s ‘taking a break from AEW’ on Collision
Mercedes Mone is taking a break.
On this week’s Collision, a video aired of Mone in her locker room reeling after the events of the Willow Nightingale TBS title victory celebration where she managed to get a celebratory cake thrown in her face and was laid out after confronting the new champion. Sitting near a mirror, Mone had a breakdown saying she was tired of the disrespect.
“I am taking a break from AEW,” she declared. “To show you why and how I elevated. And good luck without me. Because when I return, I am collecting more than just titles.”
After peaking at 13, Mone has seen a string of bad luck that has whittled her titles down to just 9. She recently lost the RevPro Undisputed British Women’s title to Alex Windsor, and also lost the ROH Women’s Television title to former champion Red Velvet. But the her most high profile title loss took place on the final Dynamite of 2025, where Nightingale finally ended Mercedes Mone’s nearly 600 day reign as champion.
