Mick Foley congratulates Kenny Omega on AEW World title win
Mick Foley was in the building for AEW Beach Break last night — and he had big praise for the main event World Championship match between MJF and Kenny Omega.
After debuting at Double or Nothing this May, Foley made an appearance at Beach Break where he took part in an angle opposite the Don Callis Family. He then made a few Instagram posts after the show where he encouraged fans to go out of their way to watch the MJF vs. Omega match. Foley called MJF a “machine” and credited Omega for the resilience he’s shown to overcome injuries and health issues to become AEW World Champion again.
“Major congratulations to @kennyomegamanx for winning the @aew world title,” the 61-year-old Foley wrote. “Kenny has been so great for so long and deserves so much credit for overcoming his injuries and adversity to claim this title. There was a feeling of electricity in that crowd in Clearwater Beach, Florida last night felt to me like a sense of community, despite the heat and humidity. I feel so fortunate to be working for this company and such an incredibly talented roster.”
There was a stipulation where, if Omega had lost, he never would have been able to challenge for the AEW World Championship again. He now heads into Redemption and All In as champion, with the latter pay-per-view right now scheduled to be headlined by Omega defending against Will Ospreay.

This is Omega’s second reign with the AEW World Championship after holding the belt from December 2020-November 2021. He made his own Instagram post last night thanking the fans for never giving up on him.
“After 1,698 days of waiting to get it back, we finished the race,” Omega wrote. “Thank you for never giving up on me and always believing, one more time.”
