MJF unveils new World title belt on AEW New Year’s Smash Dynamite

MJF brings back custom World Championship on AEW Dynamite

Following his recent AEW World title win at Worlds Collide, MJF officially announced the return of his custom ‘Triple B’ World title, unveiling the new belt on Wednesday’s New Year’s Smash edition of Dynamite.

On this year’s final Dynamite, Friedman brought back his ‘Big Burberry Belt’ — a custom version of the AEW World Championship. The title is best remembered by fans from MJF’s use of it during his first World Championship reign a couple of years ago.

He was then interrupted by Kenny Omega via a video segment who took a dig at the new champion before making his intentions clear about going after the title. MJF was also soon interrupted by Hangman Adam Page and Swerve Strickland, who were stopped by security as the 29-year-old ran away. Before he did, he told them to get in line and earn their shot.

While Omega, former champion Samoa Joe, Strickland, and Page all want a shot at the World title, MJF is scheduled to defend against Dynamite Diamond Ring winner Bandido at the Maximum Carnage edition of Dynamite on January 14 in Phoenix, Arizona.
