MJF brings back custom World Championship on AEW New Year’s Smash Dynamite

MJF brings back custom World Championship on AEW Dynamite

Following his recent World Championship win at AEW Worlds Collide, fans witnessed MJF officially announce the return of his custom ‘Triple B’ World title. Maxwell Jacob Friedman opened AEW Dynamite: New Year’s Smash and unveiled his new custom championship.

On this year’s final Dynamite episode, Friedman brought back his ‘Big Burberry Belt,’ a custom version of the AEW World Championship. The title is best remembered by fans from MJF’s use of it during his first World Championship reign a couple of years ago.

He was soon interrupted by Kenny Omega via a video segment, who took a dig at the new champion before making his intentions clear about going after the World Championship. Friedman was also soon interrupted by Hangman Adam Page and Swerve Strickland, who were stopped by security as the 29-year-old ran away.

Page and Strickland would then be interrupted by The Opps (Samoa Joe, Powerhobbs Hobbs & HOOK), who claimed that former champion Joe was the only one deserving a World title shot. While Omega, Joe, Strickland, and Page all want a shot at the World title, MJF is now scheduled to defend his title against Dynamite Diamond Ring winner Bandido at the Maximum Carnage edition of Dynamite on January 14th in Phoenix, Arizona.
