MJF makes surprise indie appearance, set for match next month

MJF's issues with Nic Nemeth has been going on since the beginning of 2026

The AEW World Champion made a surprise appearance at an indie show on Saturday.

MJF appeared unannounced after the main event of WrestlePro’s 10th anniversary show on April 4 in Rahway, New Jersey. Promotion owner and AEW Vice President of Talent Development Pat Buck was thanking fans for attending the show when MJF confronted him and gave him a low blow.

It was later announced that Buck and MJF will go one-on-one at the promotion’s show on Sunday, May 31 also in Rahway, New Jersey.

WrestlePro wrote:

“After the conclusion of our main event, owner and founder Pat Buck was thanking the fans when AEW World Champion @The_MJF interrupted and struck Pat below the belt. So now, on Sunday May 31st it is Pat Buck vs AEW World Champion MJF!!!”

MJF is also set for Create-A-Pro Wrestling’s event on May 1, where he will wrestle Nic Nemeth. MJF trained under Buck and Brian Myers at the Create-A-Pro Academy. He is also scheduled to defend the AEW World Championship against Kenny Omega on April 12 in Vancouver at Dynasty.
