MJF reacts to fans getting ‘up in arms’ over AEW & WWE references on television
MJF doesn’t get recent fan reactions to WWE and AEW mentions on television.
Following a John Cena promo on Raw that made a veiled reference to Tony Khan, MJF took to social media to question why fans are so interested in the drama.
“I truly don’t get why fans get up in arms when WWE mentions or references AEW. Or when AEW mentions or references WWE,” he wrote. “If you want to be treated like children, watch Elmo. Or better yet. Tell VKM to start a new promotion.”
Raw in London on Monday opened with Cena and Cody Rhodes meeting in the middle of the ring. While going back and forth, Cena made a not-so-subtle jab at Cody Rhodes’ former place of employment and his former boss Tony Khan.
“I make empires for billionaires,” he told Rhodes. “All you’ve ever done is steal money from their kids.”
But Rhodes also took shots at Cena, including a veiled reference to Vince McMahon, whose name hasn’t been mentioned on television since resigning from TKO last year.
“They chose me,” Rhodes said, referencing the fans. “Can you say the same, John Cena? Or was it one guy in an office who chose you — who is not here anymore and we don’t talk about him?”
