MJF to defend AEW World title at indie event

MJF

MJF’s trip to Maine later this month will include an AEW World Championship defense.

It had already been announced that MJF would be competing for Limitless Wrestling at the indie promotion’s Limitless Rumble event on Friday, January 16. MJF has now issued a challenge to Alec Price for the show — and MJF offered to put his AEW World title on the line if he’s still champion.

This will be MJF’s first match for Limitless in more than six years. He was the promotion’s inaugural World Champion during his days on the indies. Since then, he’s gone on to become a top star for AEW. MJF is now on his second reign as AEW champ after winning the title at Worlds End in December.

“When I think of wrestling companies that I did enjoy absolutely dominating, Limitless very well might be just at the very tippy top of that list,” MJF said while challenging Price. “Now there’s a guy in Limitless Wrestling, he’s got a loud mouth, he’s skinny, he won’t shut the hell up. But the reason everybody hates him, the reason everybody really hates this guy is because he can back it up. Alec Price, you remind me a lot of a young MJF. So I figured what better way to start the new year than to bring in the biggest, grandest prize possible to Limitless Wrestling.”

Price responded by warning MJF not to underestimate him.

Limitless Rumble 2026 is being held at The Colisee in Lewiston, Maine. AEW stars Eddie Kingston & Ortiz will also be part of the card, facing Channing Thomas & Anthony Greene in a tag team bout.
