Moxley vs. Penta El Zero Miedo World title match set for AEW Dynamite

Penta El Zero Miedo has stepped up as the next challenger for Jon Moxley’s AEW World Championship.

It was announced tonight that Moxley will defend his AEW World Championship against Penta on Dynamite this coming Wednesday (October 26). The match was made official after Penta confronted Moxley and accepted his challenge for a title match.

In a promo after his title defense against Hangman Page, Moxley noted that he should be celebrating — but he’s not satisfied. Moxley said he wants to pick up right where he left off. Moxley said he plans on finding someone who he hasn’t beaten yet in AEW, and that person will need to have “zero fear.”

Penta and Alex Abrahantes then confronted Moxley and accepted the challenge. Abrahantes said Penta is the only wrestler in AEW with zero fear.

Moxley and Penta have only faced each other once before, with Moxley getting the win at an indie show for Northeast Wrestling in 2019.

Moxley’s title defense against Page on the most recent episode of Dynamite ended with Moxley retaining by referee stoppage. Page was taken to the hospital after the match and diagnosed with a concussion.

Penta currently holds the AEW Trios titles with Rey Fenix & PAC.

Wednesday’s Dynamite is being held at Chartway Arena in Norfolk, Virginia. The updated lineup for the episode is listed below:

  • AEW World Champion Jon Moxley defends against Penta El Zero Miedo
