Ospreay vs. Fenix title match booked for next AEW Dynamite

Will Ospreay will defend the International Championship against Rey Fenix on the Wednesday, June 12 AEW Dynamite.

The match for next week was made official on Wednesday’s Dynamite as Fenix won a four-way number one contender’s match that also featured Jay Lethal, Kyle O’Reilly, and Orange Cassidy. Fenix pinned Lethal to set up the title bout.

In addition to holding the International title, Ospreay is the number one contender to the AEW World Championship and will challenge Swerve Strickland for that title at Forbidden Door on Sunday, June 30. Strickland defeated Roderick Strong to retain the World title in the main event of this week’s Dynamite.

Ospreay is 12-1 in AEW since joining the roster full-time in 2024, with his only loss coming in a tag match where he teamed with Orange Cassidy against Trent Beretta and Roderick Strong on the May 22 Dynamite.

Also set for next week’s Dynamite, Private Party will guest on Chris Jericho’s TV Time segment.

The June 12 Dynamite will emanate from the Wells Fargo Arena in Des Moines, Iowa. The announced card for the show:
