Paul Wight makes TV commentary return on AEW Collision

Paul Wight makes appearance during AEW Full Gear Tailgate Brawl

Paul Wight joined the AEW Collision commentary team for Saturday’s episode in his first TV appearance on AEW in roughly 18 months.

As the broadcast began, Wight joined Excalibur and Tony Schiavone. Wight has previous commentary experience on AEW Dark Elevation and has also made a handful of in-ring appearances over the years.

His last commentary appearance dates back to the AEW Full Gear Tailgate Brawl show. The Collision appearance marked his first non-PPV pre-show commentary appearance since his work at AEW Battle Of The Belts XI in July 2024.

A WWE/WCW star and former World Heavyweight Champion, Wight last wrestled for AEW in November 2023 against Brian Cage & The Don Callis Family (Konosuke Takeshita, Kyle Fletcher & Powerhouse Hobbs) while he teamed up with Kota Ibushi and The Golden Jets (Chris Jericho & Kenny Omega).

Despite having undergone a recent back surgery, Wight is not yet ready to hang up his boots.
