Powerhouse Hobbs looking to challenge for CMLL World Heavyweight Championship

Powerhouse Hobbs appears to be eyeing the CMLL World Heavyweight Championship.

Gran Guerrero has held the title for over three years now, having won it from Hechicero at Lunes Clásico on November 7, 2022. Guerrero last defended the title on Sunday against The Beast Mortos at Arena Mexico.

Hobbs responded to a post from Fightful about Guerrero’s win over Mortos, writing “Hmmm” along with a thinking emoji. Fightful then screenshotted Hobbs’ response and wrote that he appeared to have his sights set on the CMLL World Heavyweight Championship. Hobbs confirmed the speculation by writing, “YOU GOT DAMN RIGHT.

Hobbs hasn’t wrestled for CMLL directly but did take part in a 10-man tag match at AEW Grand Slam Mexico held in Arena Mexico on June 18. The member of The Opps hasn’t wrestled since being defeated by Hangman Page in a Falls Count Anywhere match at AEW Blood & Guts on November 12 in Greensboro. His social media posts are below:
