Queen Aminata reveals specific injury, potential return timeline

Queen Aminata, originally a big part of both the build and the payoff for the first-ever AEW’s Women’s Blood & Guts match, ended up missing out due to injury.
On her latest vlog Wednesday, she shared some specific injury information and hinted at a timeline for her return.
On the November 5 edition of Dynamite, Aminata was scheduled to face Megan Bayne as part of a series of matches to determine which team would get the advantage in Blood & Guts. She was not cleared for the match, however, and her vlog showed her emotional reaction to getting the news that afternoon.
“I already cried my eyes out, but I’m in the locker room right now. I was not cleared because my neck is so tight,” she said. “I can’t even move it a little bit. And because of that, I got taken out of the match today, and that resulted in me being taken out of Blood & Guts.”
Aminata was sure to credit the AEW medical team.
“Safety comes first,” she said. “I’d rather be out for two-to-three weeks than be out for six months…I’m disappointed, but I know the team here in AEW and medical are trying their best to make me understand that they are doing this for my own good, for my own well-being.”
She did not say how she got the injury.
Aminata has already been cleared to travel as she flew to North Carolina just two days later to make an appearance for DPW. She was in Greensboro, North Carolina, for Wednesday’s Blood & Guts, making a brief appearance in a neck brace to run off the also-injured Penelope Ford.
