Report: Absent AEW star factored into Worlds End plans

MJF could be heading back to AEW sooner than you think.

According to WrestleVotes Live on Fightful Select, MJF is factored into plans for the December 27 World’s End event in Chicago as of Thanksgiving week. He’s been gone from AEW since All Out when he lost to Mark Briscoe in a thumbtacks and tables match.

The report comes as AEW has plans to determine the next Dynamite Diamond Ring winner in a matter of weeks, an accomplishment that MJF has won every year since 2019. Next week’s Dynamite will have the Dynamite Diamond Ring Battle Royal in Manchester, England. The final two participants will then move on to the Dynamite Diamond Ring Final the following week. Whoever wins there will also get an AEW World Championship match on the January 14 edition of Dynamite.

Before he went to film his role in Violent Night 2, MJF cut a promo saying he was still coming after Hangman Adam Page, as he still has his World Championship contract match that he won back at All In this summer. Page, however, went on to lose the title to Samoa Joe at last month’s Full Gear.
