Report: Adam Cole expected back in AEW soon

Adam Cole may be returning sooner rather than later.

Fightful Select reported on Monday that AEW is “hopeful and even expecting” Cole back “sooner than later” and plans are being made for his eventual return as an on-screen character.

Cole suffered a serious ankle injury at last September’s AEW Grand Slam, which required two surgeries. The report did note that Cole was visiting people backstage earlier this month at All Out without the help of crutches or a walking boot.

As part of an ongoing storyline, Cole was revealed as the person under the devil mask that wreaked havoc in AEW towards the end of 2023. He, along with Wardlow, Roderick Strong, Matt Taven, and Mike Bennett, formed a new stable called the Undisputed Kingdom. However, Cole disappeared from television soon after to focus on his recovery, and Wardlow has also been out of action with an injury. Roderick Strong and The Kingdom have remained on television as a trio.
