Report: AEW wrestler/commentator signs new contract

Daddy Magic appears to be staying with AEW.

Fightful Select reported on Tuesday that Matt Menard has signed a new contract to remain with AEW long-term. The report stated that Menard’s contract was originally set to expire around All In, but the contract was extended. The deal is five years in length, meaning it will run through the summer of 2030.

Recent years have seen Menard take on less of a role in wrestling, instead focusing more as a commentator. He also continues to serve as a mentor of sorts for Daniel Garcia, who also signed a new deal recently. Menard has only wrestled a handful of times in 2025, with his last match taking place on the episode of Collision taped on April 12 where he and longtime tag team partner Angelo Parker lost to FTR.

Both Menard and Parker, better known as 2point0, signed with AEW in 2021 after they were released from their WWE contracts. They, along with Garcia, joined the Jericho Appreciation Society at one point, changing their names to what they are now.
