More on what led Ricochet to take down a controversial social media post.

Fightful Select reported on Sunday that one of AEW’s producers convinced the former National Champion to take down a post telling a fan that he was “glad” she had multiple sclerosis, or MS. The post went up last Monday before he apologized and took it down the following day.

“Those that we spoke to in AEW say that Chris Hero was the person who reached out to Ricochet to give him advice on the disrespectful MS tweet,” Fightful Select wrote.

On Wrestling Observer Radio, Dave Meltzer noted that Ricochet deleting the post wasn’t due to influence by AEW or Warner Bros. Discovery, but something that Ricochet did on his own after talking to a friend.

“And then what ended up happening was, one of his friends called him and said, ‘You know, you really should take the tweet down.’ So he took the tweet down,” Meltzer said. “And upon thinking about it, he then apologized. Nobody forced his apology or anything like that. He decided to apologize and he did.”

Ricochet is set for the ROH x Maple Leaf Pro show that takes place this coming weekend, where he will be facing Rich Swann.
