Report: Trey Miguel released from AEW contract
Trey Miguel reportedly was released from his AEW contract soon after signing it.
According to Fightful Select, Miguel was released from his contract sometime in the last few days, just a week or so after originally signing. They were not given a reason for the sudden departure, but it was said that Miguel and AEW remain under amicable terms.
On Saturday’s Collision, The Rascalz made their on-screen debut doing a backstage interview. Miguel, however, was nowhere to be found. The following day, Trey Miguel released a statement saying he was taking a break from pro wrestling.
“Taking a break from wrestling. Please respect my space and don’t tag me in any posts or comments. Go support the Rascalz still,” he wrote on social media.
In this week’s edition of the Wrestling Observer Newsletter, Dave Meltzer noted that all four members of the group were backstage in Phoenix this past Wednesday.
After Dezmond Xavier was released from his WWE contract, all four members reunited briefly in TNA, making several appearances before their contracts ended at the end of the year. Myron Reed was advertised for this past Thursday’s TNA Impact premiere on AMC, but was pulled from the show after Leon Slater was unable to appear due to visa issues.
