Kenny Omega defeated Zack Sabre Jr. at AEW x NJPW Forbidden Door, getting the pin after a One Winged Angel.
In a match lasting almost 30 minutes, both men exchanged several strikes and chops to each other’s chests, leaving welts. Throughout the match, Omega attempted the OWA multiple times with Sabre Jr. escaping every time.
As expected, it was a classical, technical display of wrestling between the two men. While Sabre Jr. was using joint manipulation techniques, Omega focused more on strikes. The two even fought on the ringside and used the announcer’s table to each other’s advantage.
In the final few moments of the match, Omega performed several knee strikes to Sabre Jr.’s jaw, but they were not enough to keep the NJPW wrestler down. After the two exchanged strikes, Omega connected with another V-Trigger. Omega went for the One Winged Angel, but Sabre Jr. countered with another submission attempt. Omega managed to escape the hold and later finally connected with the One Winged Angel for the victory.
