Ric Flair has withdrawn from a scheduled appearance this week after doctors advised him not to travel.

Earlier this month, Flair revealed to PEOPLE that he has been diagnosed with skin cancer. In a social media post on Monday, he clarified that his diagnosis is the more serious form of skin cancer: melanoma.

Flair wrote:

“To All My Dear Friends And Fans, I Am So Sorry, That I Will Not Be Able To See You Tuesday. I Have Health Issues, That I Need To Attend To. As I Have Procrastinated Putting My Health First In The Past. Melanoma, I Have Found Out, Is Nothing To Play With. I Promise To See You ASAP. Please Continue To Love Ric Flair Drip, As @_RicFlairDrip Loves You.”

Flair was scheduled to appear Tuesday at a meet and greet hosted by Southern Sky Wellness in Pearl, Mississippi. The clinic posted an update on Monday noting that Flair’s doctors had recommended against travel.

“We are sorry to announce that Ric Flair is delaying his visit to Mississippi due to ongoing health concerns. His doctors have recommended that he does not travel at this time. Please keep him in your prayers. When we have more information about a new scheduled date we will let you know.”

In his PEOPLE interview, Flair shared that this is his second skin cancer diagnosis in three years, though it’s unclear if the first instance was also melanoma.

Over the weekend, he posted a photo to social media showing a visible bandage above his left eye:
