Ricochet files to trademark term associated with AEW fan taunts

Ricochet has filed for an interesting new trademark recently.

On August 25, the AEW star applied to trademark the term “Bald” with the US Patent and Trademark Office, a reference to chants that AEW live crowds have directed at him in recent months.

The filing covers standard professional wrestling and entertainment services, including live events, televised appearances, and merchandise.

Ricochet responded to a report regarding the filing, writing, “The fact that there are people who scan the trademark registry to see if there’s anything new… is giving Stalker.”

Ricochet filed for the trademark personally under his real name, Trevor Mann, rather than through AEW. The company has made several filings this year, however. On August 18, AEW filed to trademark “September to Remember.” On July 14 they filed for “All Elite Feast.” On April 14 they filed for “Paragon,” the name of Kyle O’Reilly’s tag team with Roderick Strong, as well as “AEW Summer Blockbuster.”

Ricochet recently celebrated his one-year anniversary with AEW, having debuted on August 25, 2024, in the Casino Gauntlet match at AEW All In London. He most recently competed on the Forbidden Door pre-show, teaming with The Gates of Agony in a win over JetSpeed and Michael Oku.
