ROH World title match announced for AEW Rampage

Claudio Castagnoli is set to defend the ROH World Championship on Friday’s AEW Rampage episode. 

As announced during Wednesday’s Dynamite, Castagnoli will defend the Ring of Honor World title against Komander on Friday’s show. Komander has an 0-5 record in AEW competition, and 3-2 in ROH, with his only singles win in either company coming on the May 4 Ring of Honor TV episode against Angelico. 

Also announced for Friday, Hikaru Shida will face Taya Valkyrie in a women’s division contest. Valkyrie is coming off a singles defeat in a TBS title match against Kris Statlander on last week’s Dynamite. 

Canada’s Shawn Spears will be in action on Friday’s Rampage in a match being taped Wednesday in Hamilton, Ontario. Spears will face The Blade in singles competition. 

In a tag match set for Rampage, Matt Hardy will team with Brother Zay against QT Marshall & Johnny TV (John Morrison). 

The lineup for Rampage airing Friday, June 30 at 10 p.m. Eastern time on TNT: 

  • ROH World Championship: Claudio Castagnoli defends against Komander
  • Hikaru Shida vs. Taya Valkyrie
  • Shawn Spears vs. The Blade (w/The Butcher)
  • Matt Hardy & Brother Zay vs. QT Marshall & Johnny TV
