Sammy Guevara cleared for AEW return following concussion

Sammy Guevara has been medically cleared to return to the ring after suffering a concussion earlier this month.

The injury occurred during a match against Serpentico at the October 2, 2024, ROH tapings in Pittsburg when a mistimed cutter resulted in Serpentico landing on Guevara’s face. Referee Bryce Remsburg immediately stopped the match, and medical personnel stretchered Guevara out of the ring.

Our Dave Meltzer reported in this week’s edition of The Wrestling Observer Newsletter that Guevara has been medically cleared to return.

“Sammy Guevara has been cleared,” Meltzer wrote.

Along with Dustin Rhodes, Guevara is one-half of the ROH Tag Team Champions. They last wrestled together on the September 21 episode of AEW Collision when they defeated Mike Bennett & Matt Taven in a Bunkhouse Brawl match. Guevara’s last singles match before the concussion was at Grand Slam Collision when he lost a Continental Championship eliminator match to champion Kazuchika Okada.
