Sareee has commented on missing the Owen Hart Foundation tournament, and AEW president Tony Khan has responded.

Just hours before the start of the June 10 edition of AEW Dynamite, it was announced that Sareee was not cleared by AEW doctors and would be replaced by Maya World in her quarterfinal match against Skye Blue.

On Thursday, Sareee commented on having to miss the tournament, writing:

“I was very disappointed that I couldn’t participate in this great tournament and I apologize to the fans who were excited for it. I definitely want to return to AEW. Looking forward to that day.”

Tony Khan responded to Sareee’s comments by saying that the door is always open for her in AEW.

Khan wrote:

“No apologies are necessary! Heal up, good luck in your recovery, and you’re welcome to come back here anytime, the door to @AEW is open for you!”

Sareee announced on May 13 that she would be taking a month off for “neck maintenance,” which led to questions about if she would be cleared in time for the tournament. Saree later told BBM Japan that she had been cleared by her doctors in Japan, but that her neck was not 100 percent healthy and AEW doctors would not clear her.
