Shelton Benjamin clears up fan concern over AEW Dynamite entrance

Taking to social media last night, Shelton Benjamin cleared up the concern his AEW Dynamite entrance caused.

Benjamin faced off against Jon Moxley in the opening match of Wednesday’s Dynamite episode. When Benjamin entered for the bout, the camera shot looked like he was emotional and may have been crying. Fans questioned what was going on, but Benjamin clarified that he was not emotional at all. The apparent tears on his face were just water that he had poured on his head.

“Thanks for the concern Fans you are greatly appreciated but, i dont do emotional, I hurt Hurt people,” Benjamin tweeted. “However before i enter an arena i do pour water on my head that tends to drip.”

Moxley vs. Benjamin was a Continental Championship eliminator match. If Benjamin won or took the match to its 20-minute time limit, he would have earned a shot at Moxley’s title. Benjamin came close, but Moxley countered a triangle choke into a pin and got the three count with only a few seconds remaining in the match.

At AEW Worlds End, Moxley became the Continental Champion by defeating Kazuchika Okada in the Continental Classic tournament finals. He’s defeated Benjamin and Josh Alexander in eliminator matches during his reign.
