Thunder Rosa confirms exit from Busted Open amid WWE Radio launch
Thunder Rosa is exiting Busted Open Radio.
In a statement on social media, Rosa confirmed that she was exiting her position on Busted Open Radio, which was first reported in the Wrestling Observer Newsletter.
“After four unforgettable years, it’s time to turn the page,” she wrote. “Some chapters in life change you forever, and this has been one of them. Being part of Busted Open has been so much more than sitting behind a microphone. It gave me the opportunity to share my perspective, connect with wrestling fans around the world, and celebrate the sport that has given me so much.”
The AEW star thanked Tony Khan for believing in her, as well as co-hosts Dave LaGreca, Tommy Dreamer, Bully Ray, and Mark Henry.
“While this chapter comes to an end, my journey continues. I’m excited for what’s ahead, and I can’t wait to keep sharing my passion for professional wrestling with all of you,” she continued. “The microphone may be off for now, but my voice isn’t going anywhere. This isn’t goodbye. It’s simply the beginning of a new chapter. I’ll see you all very soon.”
WWE partners with Sirius XM
The departure comes as WWE announced earlier in the week that it would be taking over Sirius XM’s Pro Wrestling Nation 24/7 channel, rebranding it WWE Radio. The channel officially launches on July 27 and will have commentary for every WWE PLE as well as audio simulcasts for select television programs. In addition, the podcast slate between WWE and Fanatics featuring Cody Rhodes, The Undertaker, and Stephanie McMahon’s shows will also air.
Busted Open will remain on the channel. LaGreca stressed when making the announcement that their shows would be “exactly the same” despite the rebranding.
